Resolved Question: what should I teach my boyfriend?

So I sometimes receive a bit frustrated with my boyfriend because I don't feel that he understands my obsession with horses and riding. To him every horse looks the same and the only difference between them is different colors! So, being an angel, he suggested that I try and tutor him a bit about horses so that he could understand them more. We have been on a trail ride together before and when he was younger he used to go cattle herding in Wyoming, so he likes horses and riding them (not that he really knows how to ride) and is more than willing to try and learn some more about them. Unfortunately, I do not have access to a horse at the moment, and I don't have money to take lessons or lease a horse, due to just moving to a different country and trying to keep up to be able to go to college, so I nice of have to make do with the internet and don't have the luxury of getting him to spend more time around horses and tutor him like that. And since it has been years since I was taught every the simple things, I can't remember what I began by learning... So I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas of what to tutor him about, and any ideas about how to make the "teaching" more interesting, so that he is not just looking at pictures of horses online with me saying, "okay, so this is the croup, this is the forelock, this is the coronet.." So far I have thought of: Basic points of conformation Different breeds of horses Parts of everyday tack (saddle, bridle) Different types of jumps Any more ideas? Thanks!!!!!! He knows things like not to walk behind a horse, not to yell or move too quickly, you know, REALLY basic stuff Points of conformation are the different "parts of a horse" :)

Open Question: How do I set an appointment for an interview?

I have a busy week next week at work. However, an employer wants to set up an interview with me to look if I am a good fit. When I go in on Monday I know I will have set up some interviews after sorting applications for our vacant positions. The employer's location is 20 mins away from my job. I wanted to know if it would be smart to ask if I could arrive in early so that way I would not be tardy for work. The only other time I can think of is lunch time and that's 40mins of driving that doesn't even include finding parking and the actual interview. I don't want to be gone for too long at lunch too. Unfortunately we do not have benefits and I don't have the luxury of taking half a paid day off. I also recently took some days off to go the doctors and other appointments so making up some lie like that is out of the question.

Open Question: My in laws wants to stay with us on our holiday away?

We bought an investment property in a coastal village and have taken two weeks off to do it up so that we can rent it out. As it is our annual holiday as well (we have a home business and taking time off is a luxury) we are going to work a few hours a day and then the relax to relax and like ourselves. My in laws are lovely and live interstate, and want to arrive and help out. That is OK for a few days, but I overheard her saying she wants to stay for a week. I will be distracted a lot of the time trying to receive the home in order, but also want to spend some much needed time with my husband. How can I tell them that 3 days would be the maximum? They tend to arrive and stay for months at a time when they arrive putting pressure on us and my brother in law.

Open Question: How can i get out of my motorcycle loan?

Ok here's the deal. I have a loan for my motorcycle. Because I was stupid I traded in for a brand new 06 (only had 300 miles on it) yamaha r-1 from my 2002 r-1. I was upside down big time and i had another loan i merged with that one (from the same company) but being young and naive im stuck with it. But right now im at the stage in my life that I would rather receive an extra car so my g/f can use that and make the payments on it instead of having her receive a car and still having to pay on my payments. What i was looking to do was trade my motorcycle for a car from a person (because trade in values at dealerships suck). Since the bike is worth about 8,000 right now im upside down about 7,000 on it. Yes i know i dont need the lecture lol. And because motorcycles are considered luxury items it's on a personal loan which gives me over a 13% interest rate. It's killing me. So my idea was to trade someone for a car, and receive an autoloan to simply pay off my bike. That way the car is below an car loan and a lower interest rate. Will this work? I heard car loans were given based on kelly blue book prices. If so then i need to find a way to trade my bike for a car worth about 8,000 but receive a loan for 15,000 for it. Any ideas?

Resolved Question: opinions please on this idea?

Here's the gist of it: It's about this guy who's grown up his whole life being pampered and living in complete luxury, as his family has wealth that dates back to medieval times. every the time he was growing up, though, his dad and the other men in his family have been every about the family business and how to gain more wealth, which is something this guy isn't too interested in until he finds out they're involved in a plan to enslave the world. Before he can say anything on the matter, an extremely deadly virus that kills people within a day or two breaks out, killing off several millions every over the world. He thinks the outbreak will cease his family's megalomaniacal plots until he finds out that his family, along with a few select other wealthy families, are behind the virus and it's every part of their plan for world dominance. Less people; less opposition. Basically the story is about his search for the truth, which i've just laid out, and how, if possible, he can cease it nice of a play on conspiracy theories I've heard about. Just posted it here to look if you would read something like this? Yeah, the only problem with Dan Brown-esque writing is I don't want it to be like the DaVinci Code and have the whole plot be centered around them gaining information and never really doing anything at all

Open Question: Why are GOP officials so disdainful of their own voters and supporters here on Yahoo and elsewhere?

Exclusive: RNC document mocks donors, plays on 'fear' By: Ben Smith March 3, 2010 04:23 PM EST The Republican National Committee plans to lift money this election cycle through an aggressive campaign capitalizing on “fear” of President Barack Obama and a promise to "keep the country from trending toward socialism." The strategy was detailed in a confidential party fundraising presentation, obtained by POLITICO, which also outlines how “ego-driven” wealthy donors can be tapped with offers of access and “tchochkes.” The presentation was delivered by RNC Finance Director Rob Bickhart to top donors and fundraisers at a party retreat in Boca Grande, Florida on February 18, a source at the gathering said. In neat PowerPoint pages, it lifts the curtain on the often-cynical terms of political marketing, displaying an air of disdain for the party’s donors that is usually confined to the barroom conversations of political operatives. The presentation explains the Republican fundraising in simple terms. "What can you sell when you do not have the White home, the home, or the Senate...?" it asks. The answer: "keep the country from trending toward Socialism!” Manipulating donors with crude caricatures and playing on their fears is hardly unique to Republicans or to the RNC – Democrats raised millions off George W. Bush in similar terms – but rarely is it practiced in such cartoonish terms. One page, headed “The bad Empire,” pictures Obama as the Joker from Batman, while home Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leaders Harry Reid are depicted as Cruella DeVille and Scooby Doo, respectively. The document, which two Republican sources said was prepared by the party’s finance staff, comes as Chairman Michael Steele struggles to retain the trust and allegiance of major donors, who can give as much as $30,400 a year to the party. below Steele, the RNC has shifted toward a reliance on tiny donors, but the document reveals extensive, confidential details of the strategy for luring wealthy checkwriters, which range from luxury retreats in California wine country to tickets to a professional battle in Las Vegas. The 72-page document was provided to POLITICO by a Democrat, who said a difficult copy had been left in the hotel hosting the $2,500-a-head retreat, the Gasparilla Inn & Club. Sources at the event said the presentation was delivered by Bickhart and by the RNC Finance Chairman, Peter Terpeluk, a former ambassador to Luxembourg below President George W. Bush. The RNC reacted with alarm to a question about it Wednesday, emailing major donors to warn them of a reporter’s question, and distancing Steele from its contents. “The document was used for a fundraising presentation Chairman Steele did not attend, nor had he seen the document,” RNC Communications Director Doug Heye said in an email. “Fundraising documents are often controversial. “Obviously, the Chairman disagrees with the language and finds the use of such imagery to be unacceptable. It will not be used by the Republican National Committee – in any capacity – in the future,” Heye said. The most unusual section of the presentation is a set of six slides headed “RNC Marketing 101.” The presentation divides fundraising into two traditional categories, direct marketing and major donors, and lays out the details of how to approach each group. The tiny donors who are the targets of direct marketing are described below the heading “Visceral Giving.” Their motivations are listed as “fear;” “Extreme negative feelings toward existing Administration;” and “Reactionary.” Major donors, by contrast, are treated in a column headed “Calculated Giving.” Their motivations include: “Peer to Peer Pressure”; “access”; and “Ego-Driven.” The slide also allows that donors may have more honorable motives, including “Patriotic Duty.” A major Republican donor described the state of the RNC’s relationship with major donors as “disastrous,” with veteran givers beginning to abandon the committee, which is becoming increasingly reliant on tiny donors. The party’s average contribution in 2009, according to the document, was just $40, and the shift toward a financial reliance on the grassroots may help explain Steele’s increasingly strident tone toward the Obama Administration. While the crude portrayal of Obama may be - as Steele ‘s spokesman put it - “unacceptable,” other elements of the presentation may be of equal interest to close political observers. The RNC plans to lift $8.6 million from major donors alone in 2010, less than 10% of its total 2009 fundraising take, which was primarily from tiny donors." The middle of that plan is an extensive, and colorful, schedule of events. Along with traditional fundraisers with conservative luminaries including Weekly Standard Editor Bill Kristol and former presidential candidate Steve Forbes, the party plans to lift $80,000 for a trip to Lond

Open Question: What is God really promising Christians?

I know Christians look forward to going to heaven, but what is heaven exactly? I've read a lot of descriptions which every basically sound like heaven is an eternal voyage on a luxury cruise boat with a seat at Jesus's captain's table. Angels (I imagine them dressed like Gopher on The adore Boat, only with wings) are there to attend to your every need. There is endless food, entertainment, no responsibility, and close proximity to the divine. In some descriptions, there is harp music, probably at Sunday brunch. The problem is, none of this is biblical. As close as this atheist can tell, every God promises is "eternal life" and "trust me, you'll adore it." How do you know you won't spend eternity in servitude? Or in New Jersey?

Open Question: The TNA is not the only organization that is firm on demands is it?

There are other parties that are firm on demands that the TNA which is a puppet of the LTTE give up LTTE terrorist leaders and funds and let the innocent Tamil speaking people have the freedom that they have already determined for themselves to live in an integrated Sri Lanka free of the violence and utter disregard that they have experienced below certain TNA politicians for their well-being or future. A very crucial part of the justified demands is that the TNA as well as organizations abroad that have supported LTTE terrorism make honest overtures toward a peace process including turning over LTTE assets held abroad. http://beta.thehindu.com/news/international/article244954.ece The TNA is chock full of persons of dual or foreign nationalities whilst the PEOPLES of Sri Lanka share no such luxury and are left to suffering and death whilst the TNA pontificate in their foreign "homelands". http://beta.thehindu.com/news/international/article244954.ece I certainly do not owe you anything for killing my peoples on my lands for they are every my peoples. Before there was ever a king named Vijaya there was an Empress named Kuveni wasn't there? http://www.srilankaguardian.org/2010/02/… And her dad the Emperor put her to reign over every her male relatives. There is no doubt that with an empire and many relations that Vijaya was only a administrator (ruled a seat) for a period until Kuveni left Vijaya that her administrative head seat moved with her line. Kuveni was famous and still well known from the Africas to China as the Golden Empress and the Black Maddona and is depicted historically and in ancient arts. 1 month ago Her government was semi-federal and there was great growth because unlike her previous concubine's administration it was nor ruled by a thug prince and his band of robbers and that success is still indicative in modern day Sri Lanka where separate ethnic and cultural identities still flourish and have neve been vanquished. The Vanquished prince of India who was kicked out by his possess dad became one of many local administrators and lost his stature when he lost Kuveni. In a government where many politicians arise from places with the name hora- which means thief - it is only just that the home of the modern day ancestor of Kuveni is Matara which is mom and is right next to the seat of Devanampiyatissa which is in the locale of Devendura at the headlands of Zeus. 1 month ago . . Resolved Question: can I evict my tenant already?

We rented out our upstairs apartment about a month ago.Since this is our first time doing it, I did every my homework or at least thought I did. A few ppl contacted us, but this girl was in a rush as her landlord was selling the home and her contract was up, and she was looking to move into this town. She said it would only be her and her son. Looked clean and presentable, didn't mind giving me her SSN so I can run a background check on her, and no problem with first month's rent and security deposit. She completed an application and stated that she was divorced getting child support for her ex who in the military. She also stated at that point that she also has a daughter (fine by me but why not mention it before??), and that her BF would be staying over occasionally. In any case, she moved in after her background checked out. She was so impressed with how clean the place was? made me wonder where she lived b4. Anyway had NP with her since she moved in until the rent came due. Mind you this is the first month after she moved in. She told me the 2nd day that she is waiting for her child support and disability checks for the two weeks she was our of work for. Ok fine. I said np, we every go through difficult times. I waited about a week b4 I asked her again, and again she gave me the whole I am still waiting excuse. Ok, another 5 days go by so now that's 2 weeks in, I contacted her and advised that now I am applying the tardy fee and she has to the 15th to pay. She gave me some story about how her ex was hurt in Afghanistan and they sent someone to her door to tell her that, and her disability checks were sent to the Old address and she is still waiting for them to arrive to this address. very very iffy story. I know those check are not coming from china so what the heck ? also , I wouldn't think that the military would be telling the Ex wife her Ex husband was hurt ? maybe I am wrong.. but. In any case, her BF has been staying here every night since she moved in but I have said nothing. Mind you , we don't rent because its such a luxury . We need the money and we paid over draft fees at the beginning of the month because the anticipated rent was not in the acc as it should have been . My husband thought something is not right about her every along, but I thought she showed no signs of anything crazy and her background checked out. So what she works part time.. must be the child support is good enough... clearly WHAT DO I KNOW. My questions is, on the 15th I would like to call an attorney and consider eviction.. any advice? is this even possible considering that its her first month? She hasn't even showed an attempt or put forth any effort to settle this and we honestly cant afford this. She is costing us more staying there than if the place was empty. She failed to switch some utilities to her name when she moved in and now we have a bill below our name when its really hers. She said she would pay it, but if she cant even pay the rent I am thinking we are stuck with that bill. An help is appreciated.

Open Question: Is restricted access to lifts into a building classed as disability discrimination?

Hi, if you are disabled and therefore require the use of lifts in order to gain access to the different levels of floors in a building, is it classed as discrimination if access to these lifts are heavily restricted due to the over use, incompetence, laziness of other people and time waiting for you to gain access to them? I suffer with cerebral palsy, and for a long time now I have been subjected to over using the stairs to my physical ability ( I shouldn't even use stairs!), the lifts are by far too busy with the use of hundreds of people, I can never receive clear access to them when needed, and even when clearly visible people ignore you and try to receive in the lifts themselves I am also left waiting in pain before every the able bodied persons are catered for, before me who needs the lift can use them. And at the same time nothing is being done in place to make it every the better, it is just a problem which just spans out and escalates. Is every this therefore classed as discrimination? And if so who is therefore liable/responsible for getting this put right. Also what is the differences with rights. in regards to a disabled person (who needs lifts) compared to what an able bodied person may who may call it their human rights in which to use the lifts. is it a human right to use lifts (when able bodied) or just a luxury. Thanks Sure if the lifts are even public those rights of a disabled person are somewhat more or increased. After every a able bodied walking person would be perfectly able to make it up say to the top of a 7 level building compared to that of someone limited to the use of a power or manual wheelchair. Wheels cannot go up stairs! And surely in the Disability Discrimination Act it states that access to public buildings for disabled persons is a must and a business or otherwise must do something ie with the use of lists to ensure disabled persons can receive to anywhere that an able bodied person can, failure to do so is against the law and classed as discrimination, surely that's more right. Why should a disabled person (aka me) suffer or be limited to access to say only the ground floor because of a physical disability. After every I should be able to receive everywhere anywhere like everyone else, public or not, its not equal oppertunities to be waiting when your needs are greater than that of another.

Open Question: Why do Jehovah's Ws give themselves the luxury of having tpast sins forgiven because they happened long ago?

BAR ANERGES says: "We don't pay much attention to this issue or to any other misunderstanding by early Witnesses from 50 to a hundred years ago because it just doesn't matter, nor does it disprove what we believe now." Does that mean that JWs will forgive a person who was disfellowshipped 50 years ago since their sins 50 years ago don't really matter? I mean if the sin of untrue prophesy is forgiven to the whole organization of JWs, then why don't the JWs pass on that forgiveness to old disfellowshipped people who haven't sinned in decades?

Resolved Question: My cable provider sucks and yes I want more competition but is opening the door to foriegners the answer?

My cable provider sucks --- they have the market sewn up where I live -- They like every the privilege of a Crown corporation with NONE of the responsibility of a Crown corporation They like every the luxury of a private corporation with NONE of the market forces that would ordinarily serve as moderating factors of their behavior That is just the unhappy reality of how it is The government plans to allow foriegners into the market place to serve as some compitition to them Great --- choices --- better yet competition Wonderful But now I am going to be stuck giving money to foriegners OR stay with the high handed needy service we will receive to it when we feel like it cable provider most urban cities in this nation are forced to endure Is that the answer ? Foriegners or a bad Canadian service ? Wouldn't funding and developing and favoring other Canadian corporations to serve as competition so I had choices of Canadian providers be a better answer than swinging open the door to foreign markets where my money goes to some other nation ? Cindy You are so right no more uranium from us needy Canadians you can freeze in the dark No more water no more lumber you can pay full price somewhere else We have the goods and the clients Clients with a dollar that isn't worthless We should mind our possess business and let you dependants down south fend for yourselves

Resolved Question: I'm worried that my 6 year old daughter is too much into luxury items lol?

I don't know where she gets it from lol. After school she tells me that her pal is going to the louis vuitton season opening show and that she likes the balenciaga bags...and that her pal's mom has a nice hermes scarf. I'm always so shocked...and she always wants me to buy her those fashion magazines (she can hardly read them but likes to look at the clothes)...she knows every the "in" colors...she even paints her possess toes nails and finger nails! sometimes grey, sometimes red, dark brown! haha....my baby was at my best pal's home (she has a boy sasha's age) so my best pal was telling me how they were playing in the snow and she could look sasha making him examine her nail polish and asking him if he liked it..LOL...so is this normal that my daughter is so hands on with every of these brands at such a young age! it's silly but at the same time i'm a little worried because i cannot support her passion financially when she gets older....also another thing...her teacher complained to me a couple of days ago that sasha asked her why she wears so much foundation and that she has a better bag than her. How should i go about disciplining her about this? she's so tiny and tiny right now she doesn't know what she's talking about.. i haven't raised her to be this way...when she gets older than i will step up..but now i let her play grown up

Open Question: does anyone have a good story on how they induced their labor naturally.?

I am 40 weeks with my second child. I was induced early with my first one so I have not had the luxury of going into labor by myself. I was wandering if anyone knew the steps they took that brought them into labor. I have read alot about how to naturally induce but hearing it from people who actually did it is better than reading it from an article. The doctor I have now will not induce labor but I am known to have big babies, due to my first son being 10lb 14oz.. So I wish they would just induce me or something.. I am scared to have a even bigger baby.. But let me know how you induced your labor.. And what worked for you..

Open Question: What does it mean? "de luxe pour au cœur"?

I want to say "luxury for the heart" as a title for an article. For instance when you say, food for the soul, I want to say luxury for the heart. Should I say "de luxe pour au cœur"? My article is just an essay in philosophy. I'm trying to talk about how luxury can be immaterial, like sitting in the park with your friends is a luxury in a philosophic/romantic sense. So I want to talk about how luxuries can be experienced, so I want the title to be "luxury for the heart". Any suggestions?

Resolved Question: What should I pack for a camping trip?

I need to know the minimal amount of stuff that I need for a camping trip because my pal and I are biking 10.6 miles to receive to the camp site and we're staying 3-5 days. But other than clothes, food, sleeping bags, water bottles, matches, toothbrus/glue, duct tape (it fixes everything), lighters, sunblock, and toiletries, what else should we pack? Nothing like axes and everything, and we already have what we're going to eat planned out so we don't need cups/plates/can openers and such. But we're basicly going to go camping and we need a list of supplies of stuff we're going to need. Nothing that's a luxury or whatever, and stuff like that. Just the bare minimum. Help? (:
