Open Question: Am I being unreasonable (see details please)?

We are moving to the US from the UK for my partner's job and I have postponed my studies to move with him. The conditions of our Visas means that when I'm there, if I leave the US I won't be let back in and although we are only there for 2 years, in those two years, two of my friends are getting married.I have had to tell them both that I cannot arrive to their weddings. They are both very upset, especially the one for whom I was supposed to be a bridesmaid (she isn't speaking to me right now). My partner's Visa on the other hand allows him to reenter the US if he leaves, so he wants to go back to the UK for his pal's wedding in December. Unlike my friends, however, his pal (quite reasonably I think!) was very surprised that he wanted to arrive back as she didn't expect him to bother with the expense of coming every the way from the US. I think therefore that she wouldn't be at every upset if he didn't go. Is it unreasonable of me to ask him not to go? The reasons I don't want him to go are 1/ he will have to take holiday off work which I will not receive to spend with him - as it is he works extremely long hours and lots of weekends, so I hardly receive to look him, so spending time with him during his holidays are precious to me. 2/ it will be so expensive what with flights, hotel, etc, and it would mean I would have to go without luxuries for us to afford it (e.g. going out for dinner, etc). 3/ We won't have been there long, so I won't have any friends, and so he will be leaving me in a odd city every on my possess. Am I being unreasonable?

Open Question: What's so wrong with a Gaza luxury mall?

Seriously, what gives people? What nice of joy in life do the Palestinians have? And I can't believe some of you are using this to defend the Israeli genocide there, "Oh, they're building a luxury mall! Who cares who kills them." It's not like the average person had anything to do with the mall, they're just shopping in it! Why are you dissatisified with this? I understand money should be spent on better things, but still... Those things are every related or reulting from war. It's not fair to the people that every they have in this life is suffering. And there's plenty of Israeli luxury shopping malls, too! They need the money generated from the mall to stimulate the conomy anyway and maybe 'try' to attract tourism. And besides, it could be a private company's funding! Why condemn the suffering people?

Resolved Question: Why is the gay area in Birmingham such an expensive option?

Why is it that in Birmingham you can receive a pint of lager for £1.49 in a straight pub just 5 minutes walk from the gay area, but when you receive in the gay area the cheapest pint you can buy is £2.49 and that is a week night special offer and on a weekend the drinks go up to around £3.70 a pint. On the other hand in pubs like Weatherspoons you can buy pints for £1.75 on any night of the week. I remember that in Newcastle's gay scene the situation was similar and the same people owned almost every the gay bars and they were monopolised. However this situation has not always been a problem. I noticed that in Newcastle gay bars used to charge the same for pints as in straight bars, but the prices then just shot up. In Manchester and in Liverpool the pints in gay pubs are still cheap, but some gay scenes seem to be charging higher prices. Does anyone think that its a bit unfair? Does anything think that people on lower incomes and students are being ''priced out'' of the gay area? Finally, what is the business incentive for charging more for drinks? Surely if drinks were just a little bit more affordable and reasonably priced ie, £2.50 a pint then more people would use the bars. I mean to say, sheesh £3.70 is the sort of price you would expect to pay in the Hilton Hotel and I would not pay that unless I was getting luxury!

Open Question: Is there something wrong with me? Why can't I find a girl that likes me? (pic included)?

I'm writing this to find out if there's something wrong with me that causes me to be rejected left and right. I think I'm pretty decent looking but women seem to think otherwise. I haven't had a date in over 7 months and that was only a first date. I'm starting to receive sleepy of every this rejection, I need to turn my luck around soon. So any suggestions would be appreciated. Here's some info about me. I'm 25 years old, 5' 9", 170 lbs. I'm currently in school finishing a computer science degree (I did engineering before this). I do have a job, although it's not a great one. Don't have a car, needed to give up that luxury to pay for school. I just want to meet a girl I like but that seems less likely everyday. Thanks for any help. Here's some pics: http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/ss192/Kal0051/ffe3ba3a.jpg http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/ss192/Kal0051/n765030092_5054594_2939.jpg http://i575.photobucket.com/albums/ss192/Kal0051/SDC10169.jpg I'm seriously thinking of just giving up with women. It's truly unhappy I have this bad luck. But I'm afraid it will be a boring life, since lots of ppl I know are starting more serious relationships and I'm finding that I'm alone more often. Don't tell me to receive a car. I can't right now. I don't have mom and dad paying for me to go to school, that expense comes out of my possess pocket. So there's no money left for insurance and car payments. If a girl doesn't like me because I don't have a car then she's a shallow b1tch and can go fvck herself. And I'm not just having a dry streak. The last time I was with a girl that actually liked me was about 5 years ago. every the girls I've been out with since then seemed only interested in getting free meals/drinks/entertainment.

Open Question: Why do illegal aliens even have Arizona driver`s licenses?

How the hell did that happen? You know, American complain "argh, they are getting food to eat" or "dangnappit, them kids are getting an education" or "for cripes sakes, there they are at the hospital getting medicine!" And yes, those are quite the horrible atrocities they are committing (along with cleaning your toilets, building your patio decks, and making sure your luxury hotels are spotless) BUT..... every of that, or most of it, could be nipped in the bud if the State of Arizona wasn`t giving them illegals a free ticket with that driver`s license. You can`t really blame the illegals for wanting a piece of that unattainable Pie that America keeps selling, but you sure can blame the State of Arizona for making it easier for them.

Open Question: 2nd Gen Acura TSX or 6th Gen Camry SE?

07-09 I-4 Camry SE with sunroof (max price $18,000) Pros: 1.Nice looking body kit 2.Cheaper price and maintenance, gas, etc. 3.Customized probability Cons: 1.Recall issue (even though Toyota has been fixing it with no cost to customer, but still a concern) 2.Cheap looking interior (dashboard, boring CD player display) 3.Financing rate might be high and short on time 09 I-4 Acura TSX Tech Package(dealer special promo $27,000) Pros: 1.More horsepower 2.Fully loaded with every the "toys" 3.Luxury interior materials (leather, nice dashboard, premium sound system, etc.) Cons: 1.More expensive than Camry (insurance, gas, maintenance, etc.) 2.Expensive to customized (rims) 3.1.9% APR for 60 months (if my credit is at the "tier" range) Recently I'm looking to buy a car to replace my 4th gen Camry LE or maybe trade in my 07 Corolla S. Both of the SE and TSX are newer and bigger than my Camry LE and Corolla S. Being a car fanatic, I adore the look on the SE, but the "toys" on the TSX are difficult to ignore. My heart says Camry SE, but my head shouts Acura TSX!!! I want to hear some 2nd opinions from you guys. Let hear them. Thx a lots. The Camry SE is difficult to arrive by, especially the white one with sunroof. Some of you might wonder why don't I receive a new model with 0% APR, but I don't fond of the new face-lift 2010-11 Camry SE at every. To War Hero: Unfortunately, most Jap cars' parts are 80% American.

Open Question: My eating disorder. Please help me I want to feel better!?

I don't actually have an eating disorder, or, I don't intentionally try to have one. I haven't liked eating every my life, and I am a little below my weight class (not by a huge amount I eat SOME stuff). I feel like I'm not glad sometimes but I may just be doing that for attention, because I only do that around my friends self consciously. Anyways, I went to my life doctor (the one I had since I was a baby) and he finally realized I had acid reflux disease. Acid reflux make people nauseous or even regurgitate. He subscribed me with pills and they worked very well, I was even gaining weight! Then I ran out and got out of the habit of taking my pill everyday. I lost weight and felt worse again, now i take it every once in a while. It's not that I hate taking pills it doesn't bother me, I just can't remember to take it every morning. But I feel like that's not every of why I'm not eating. I'm really not sure why I don't like it. I'm 13 and I should be eating like a pig right now, every of my friends are and they are getting huge growth spurts, while I just feel sick every the time. I receive light headed easily like every time I receive up it turns black and I can't focus until it goes away. I'm in very bad shape plus I don't drink much water at every. I don't live in a bad family I actually live in luxury kinda:) I don't receive why my family and friends are every fine and adore food when I receive sick just looking at it. Half of the time I only eat because I can tell I hurt my mom when I don't eat, so I just do it anyway. If it wasn't for her, I think I would half my weight and probably dead. I don't have any problems psychologically speaking, at least I don't think. Please! Help me! I want to eat and feel better but I just can't because I hate it!!

Resolved Question: How come rich liberals never like to pay their taxes?

Read the whole thing before commenting, liberals. Oh, and if you belive John is keeping the boat in Rhode Island because of the chartering and maintenance there is a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell ya! http://blogs.marketwatch.com/election/2010/07/28/kerry-to-pay-yacht-tax-in-effort-to-cast-off-controversy/ After a burst of unflattering media, Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts has agreed to pay about $500,000 in taxes for a luxury yacht that he docked outside the state. Kerry issued a statement Tuesday evening – five days after the story broke – saying he would make a lump payment to the state he represents. “We’ve reached out to the Massachusetts Department of Revenue and made clear that, whether owed or not, we intend to pay the equivalent taxes as if the boat’s home port were currently in Massachusetts. That payment is being made promptly.” The former Democratic presidential candidate initially avoided about $440,000 in Massachusetts sales taxes and $70,000 in annual excise taxes by stationing his new $7 million luxury yacht in neighboring Rhode Island. That state repealed taxes on the sale and use of yachts in 1993, making it a tax haven for boaters. After the Boston Herald broke the story last Friday, Kerry was literally chased by local reporters and ridiculed by political columnists. The story was starting to make it into the national media when Kerry suddenly announced he would voluntarily pay the tax. The New Zealand-built yacht has been seen repeatedly in Massachusetts waters, potentially giving the state a claim to levy a tax. Kerry’s spokesman said the yacht was docked in Rhode Island mainly for maintenance and chartering purposes. To Bill Brasky- It's lest, not less. Also, I don't remember seeing Republicans running around saying paying taxes is patriotic like Joe 'I can't open my mouth without sticking my foot in it' BIden. Also if you will recall, Timothy Geithner is an actual tax cheat, yet he runs the Treasury Dept, which in turn, runs the IRS. Republicans aren't that brazen as to toss that level of hypocrisy in the taxpayers faces. I also believe I forgot to mention ol' Charlie Rangel. I'm hardly cherry picking, but if you ever had any experience reading you would have noticed I didn't include every political viewpoint, just the one that thinks that paying taxes is for everyone else and not them. DUH! Comrade Otto- look Timothy Geithner. Do you really not understand the question I posed? Dems (who, by the way, are mostly liberal) run around telling everybody else they should be patriotic and pay their taxes. Liberals. And yet, they are the ones who manage to cheat Uncle Sam out of the taxes they owe. How you cannot grasp this concept is beyond me. You are willfully ignorant. Melissa- Do you read at every? Apparently I have to make my point yet again. Liberals think everybody else should pay taxes. Besides, my examples trample your puny one. The guy who runs the Treasury and the guy who is on the home committee that writes the tax laws are definitely better than yours. Silly rabbit.

Open Question: When will man begin to evolve spiritually?

I understand that evolution is a slow process. But after our physical needs have been met, is it not logical to expect a person to meet his spiritual needs? I mean, instead of graduating to luxuries and vanities, why hasn't man addressed (and answered) the question, "why am I not in peace yet?" Though poverty exists in parts of today's world, there is a sizable number of people whose basic wants are easily met. (The thinking person will agree that there are no limits to human vanities. So I am not referring to them here.)

Open Question: Interesting Question About America...?

Are the liberties ( or luxuries ) Americans are afforded some of the biggest hindrances to this nation? America is arguably the most popular example of a heterogeneous society.. and it begs the question; is this more harmful than helpful to the prosperity of this nation? mixing cultures, religions, ideologies? while not every homogeneous societies are prosperous, it spares the nation the conflicts over race/culture that plagues a big sector of america ( especially in the larger metropolitan areas ). freedom of speech. i expect to receive flak for this, but does freedom of speech work more in the favor of hurt than good? i'll spare you my opinions regarding this and just ask what you think about freedom of speech, yourself... gender equality. like racial equality, does this actually ENABLE sexism/racism and promote it amongst the minority? race card. feminism. double standards are applied everywhere in FAVOR of racial and sexual equality. capitalism. well, this has always been a heated debate as to whether it's good or bad. there are pros and cons, but the argument for or against it is relative and probably has moreso to do with your socioeconomic status than it does your ideological standing. if you're doing good in a capitalist society, it's great - if not, you're probably against it. i know it's deeper than that, but i'll leave that for you to detail.

Open Question: How can people have no heart, or conscious?

I find it very discouraging when a sight like this has been set up for us to help one another is turned into a place where people can go, and be rude, hurtful, and outright abuse their rights to arrive on here. Sure, I can report abuse, and yes, I am taking a risk by coming on here myself, but that does NOT give others the right to arrive on and pick random questions and be RUDE about their answers. Yes, I make the conscious decision to ask my question. However, my questions are well thought out, and if I had the answer to them myself, I wouldn't be on here. Not everyone has the fortunate luxury of never going through a hardship like my family is, and when that is the case if it is found by others that MY family is less of being human, and of having feelings, well, every I have to say, is to those who think they are better than everyone else, I pray that your family NEVER goes through a difficult time, and that you never receive knocked off your high horse, because you haven't ever lived life if you've never hit a difficult spot. People need to remember we every came into this world the same way, some were born with a silver spoon in their mouths, and some may never receive the pleasure of knowing what it is like to have the basic necessities, but none the less, we every have feelings, and we should every take the time to be empathetic towards others needs. I have never asked for a hand out in my life, I have been a person who has always given back, and helped others my whole life, but now that my family is down, and hurting, instead of a helping hand, I receive a slap in the face. I can't believe how rude people can be, how pathetic!!

Open Question: What can diamonds do for us?

A diamond does not melt, but can burn. Diamond is one of the crystalline forms of carbon, formed at very high temperatures and pressures. It takes a temperature of about 2,700 degrees centigrade (4,892 degrees Fahrenheit), plus high pressure, to form a diamond from lignin, a carbon compound that is abundant in every woods and grasses. A diamond will burn or oxidize when exposed to a hot flame in the presence of oxygen, for example an oxygen torch with a temperature of 800 degrees centigrade (1,472 degrees Fahrenheit), according to The Merck Index, a standard chemistry reference work. The other crystalline form of pure carbon, graphite, would melt at a temperature of approximately 3,500 degrees centigrade (6,330 degrees Fahrenheit), an abnormally high level because it takes a great deal of energy to break up the strong three-dimensional bonding of the molecules in its crystal structure. Source(s): The McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Chemistry. the sun is 5,500 °C, which is 9932 F, would creating a diamond prism covering Mercury possibly lower the temperature on Mercury? Diamond is only a luxury for mandkind, it's time to use our strongest resource to build life asides from Earth. Reduce pollution by moving industrial and agricultural production to another planet. Batteries powered by the Sun. The future is not too far.

Open Question: Rangel: Will he get by with a mere slap on the wrist?

Democrats, why so silent about this? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/24/rangel-democrats-wary_n_658092.html http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0210/33550.html http://dyn.politico.com/printstory.cfm?uuid=14B3A8C8-18FE-70B2-A83D3FC21A7323B1 With some home insiders suggesting the Rangel probe had already bogged down in a partisan stalemate, the latest announcement by the ethics committee means that Rangel may face weeks, or even months, of added scrutiny. below home ethics committee rules, investigative subcommittees, which have subpoena power, must approve by a majority vote any finding of an alleged ethic violation. The full ethics committee would then have to take final action on the matter. The ethics committee first voted on Sept. 24, at Rangel’s request, to create an investigative subcommittee to look into the New York Democrat’s personal finances, including his use of rent-stabilized apartments in a luxury Harlem building, his failure to fully pay taxes on a resort home in the Dominican Republic and his use of official home stationery to solicit potential donors for the Charles B. Rangel middle for Public Service in New York. It's a particularly vexing situation for New York Democrats, who know Rangel well and have benefited for years from his campaign contributions and his advocacy for the state – particularly on the powerful Ways and Means Committee, which he chaired before stepping down from the post last March. To criticize Rangel would look politically expedient for these Democrats and could risk the ire of the Congressional Black Caucus and the many influential black activists in New York. But staying silent leaves them vulnerable to Republican charges that the party is not sufficiently tough on the ethical lapses of its members.

Open Question: Massage and Trust maybe should go hand in hand?

Been dating a long time pal for 4 months now. He has a more lavish taste, while I am more practical. We live long distance currently. Today he has informed me that he paid for a masseuse to arrive to his home for an 80 dollar, 2 hr massage....right....I would not have had a problem if the lady was 50++ but she is in her early twenties, and by a long shot i'm going to say attractive, cuz lets be real, who would hire an ugly masseuse. Anyway, I know its early in the dating game, but I am a little perturb he had this lady feeling on him in his home alone while he was in his drawers ( yea he admitted he did not wear a towel). Constructive criticism is much needed. I am trying to be impartial on this subject, but my nerves can only take so much. Am I over reacting? Its not like I can cease him from paying for these luxury massages, yet it is not something I;m comfortable with... Adult advice greatly appreciated.

Open Question: My recruiter keeps on bailing out on me?

I am joining the Air Force. I called in back in June. In the 2nd to last week of June. I was suppose to go to MEPs on July 1st, but my recruiter bailed out on me. I don't have the luxury of having a ride, nor can anyone in my family steer me because they have work during the time. So we could never do the final paperwork. I've called him on multiple occasions if he can arrive over, and he has said yes on some occasions, yet bailed out on me on every of them. A few weeks ago he told me he was on his way over, but 2 hours later he told me he can't make it. The steer over is only 15 minutes when there is no traffic, and he has arrive over twice before. He has told me on 2 separate occasions that I had an appointment at MEPs. I would then call him to make sure everything is set, but he tells me I can't go anymore. The most recent one was this week. My appointment was suppose to be on Friday. I FINALLY got a ride, so I didn't have to deal with his BULLSHT. It took 15 minutes to receive to the recruiter office. The base is hidden behind a bunch of buildings, and was difficult to find. When I call him for help, he told me he was called, and had to leave. So I wasted my time, and my friends time who was willing to steer me. My recruiter has been toying with my life for over a month now, and it is really starting to take a toll on my family. My mom was even threatening to call the recruiter, and receive it every settled, because she hates the fact that he has been toying with our time. My question is, after bailing out on me, breaking promises, and lying, is it possible to contact a supervisor? And does it actually work?

Open Question: Why do people think it's okay to be on assistance and have things like an I-phone?

I am every for helping people that legitimately need help. (ex. lady is single and pregnant. Man isn't helping her out so she needs the help. Or man loses job and family needs some temporary help) I like the fact the America can help people that are actually working and supporting themselves and their kids and just need a little extra help to receive over the hump. It just drives me crazy to look some lady at Walmart checking out with WIC vouchers and talking on her I phone. No kidding I saw a lady 2 weeks ago pay for food with her Food Stamp card and then had a separate purchase for cigs and beer! HORRIBLE! It also makes me mad when they have satellite service or internet service..etc. Those things are considered a luxury not a necessity. If you can't afford to feed your child, then you shouldn't have internet service! If there is a man in the home, he needs to receive a second job if one isn't cutting it. And just bc your pregnant, doesn't mean you can't work. I'm sorry to vent but I really want to know how people snooze at night knowing they are getting every kinds of assistance and playing on the internet, or watching satellite, or smoking cigs. People on assistance should have necessities like food, shelter, utilities, vehicle. If they want extra things...work for them like the relax of us. Okay I look your point about the internet for school and things. But to have an I-phone, even if they got the phone before they lost their job, they still have to pay for the service (which isn't cheap) every month. They have regular cellphones for minimal price for those that prefer those over a land line or to have for emergencies. I am going out on a limb here and guessing the person that called me a judgemental wh*re is one of those people I am talking about :) Sunshine..What I am saying is that if you can't afford to buy food for your child AND have the extra things like cell phones and satellite..etc. Then you don't receive those things. It is YOUR job to feed your child, not ours. It makes me mad bc there are people out there that really need help and aren't going to be able to receive it soon, bc there are no funds left due to the people that took advantage. Like your mom for instance. Does the 20 year old live with her? A 20 year old and 17 year old should be working and helping with the bills. There is no reason that your mom should be getting food stamps for grown people if they are capable of working. If you every were working and contributing you wouldn't need to live off the government. Since you have no name I will call you CLUB...I'm pretty sure you know what nice of people I am talking about. So cease trying to be the welfare advocate. People take advantage of the system. you can't even have a converstaion like an adult without swearing and calling me derogatory names (which I reported by the way). You can disagree without calling me a whore. Well maybe you can't but an adult would be able to. But if you can't afford to buy food then you let your phone be close off and pay the penalty later. That is the chance you take when you sign a contract for an expensive phone service. You will never make me believe that it is okay for someone that receives welfare to have a $90+ a month cell phone bill. I don't know where you live where walking into the library and using the computer isn't free, but I have never heard of that before in my life. Between the 2 of you, you couldn't afford a cell phone bill for a year? Nice mom to put up with that!

Resolved Question: How can I live a life of luxury like illegal immigrants?

I'd adore nothing more than to pay for food with someone else's money! I'd like to go to the doctor without getting a bill in the mail. Actually know it every I gave my 4 years, more than others have. I didnt specifically say a race I said illegal immigrants so you are the one who labeled, not me.
